    What You'll Do

    The Vice President – Global Finance, provides leadership and direction throughout the organization in accomplishing Precor's vision, mission, and alignment with company values. Maintains high personal standards and continually sets an example of professionalism throughout the company. This position reports to the President, and has dotted line reporting responsibility to the Chief Financial Officer at our parent company Amer Sports.  This position provides support  to all Precor locations and compliance with Amer Sports guidelines and initiatives.

    The VP – Global Finance is responsible for leading the Financial Reporting & Controlling,  Business Planning ( 3 year, annual plans, in year forecasts ) and Financial/Admin services Management  functions, supporting the Brand in the following key areas; planning, performance tracking,  cost accounting,accounts payable, accounts receivable/credit and collections,local tax & treasury (including f-x management) as well as being a mentor to Senior leadership on key financial and administrative matters.

     

    You will be responsible for: 

     

    • Assure the financial integrity of the company by:
    • Maintaining effective reporting processes and tools in conjunction with internal service provider (Amer Financial Shared Service (AFSS)) as well as local support team. Objective is high quality financial results to assist stakeholders in measuring outcomes vs targets.
    • Maintaining an effective internal control process in conjunction with Amer HQ and  AFSS.  Making timely improvements to internal controls whenever circumstances dictate.
    • Ensuring the company's policies and procedures set forth in Amer Financial Policy manual, are communicated and followed.
    • Assist external and internal auditors and implement recommendations as appropriate. Maintain knowledge of all activities within the accounting department.
    • Manage development and measurement of product costs (BSC’s) on annual basis and ensuring transfer prices are developed and cascaded throughout the organization.
    • Manage external reporting tools and processes.
    • Comply with all corporate reporting requirements, and assure that federal, state, and local governmental reports are filed accurately and timely.
    • Oversee the granting of credit, and the collection of receivables within Precor's objectives.
    • Manage Precor’s 3rd party financing programs and team.
    • Assure that Capital Requests (CER's) are reviewed fully before submission to the corporate parent. Assure financial analysis is accurate and coordinates functional services to assure assumptions and forecasts are credible.
    • Works Senior Leadership Team (SLT) members  to assure all applicable federal, state, and local laws are observed.
    • Manage the Company's financial planning process in conjunction with Amer guidelines and timetables.
    • Assure that appropriate data is gathered & analyzed (trends, results) against targets/expectations and all material variances are examined for impact on quarterly & annual results. Work with SLT to ensure corrective action options are reviewed and plans implemented to maximize results.
    • Develop processes and tools that deliver high quality benchmarks and reporting processes and timely communication.
    • Assure that cash flow and other forecasts are reliable and timely. Instill understanding and discipline throughout the Company to focus on generating cash and exceeding financial objectives.
    • "Tie together" key information from internal sources to deliver high percentage against monthly sales and margin targets. This involves strong support & involvement with "Bulls Eye" team who is tasked with managing sales/margin forecast data and process. 
    • Determine staffing requirements necessary to meet objectives. Identify critical skills and abilities required for positions within the function. Hire highly qualified candidates to further strengthen overall team performance.
    • Clearly define job expectations and develops performance criteria to measure progress. Encourage everyone within the organization to strive for continuous improvement in his or her job.
    • Provide timely and objective performance assessments, regular feedback regarding behavior, methods and equitable salary administration.
    • Coach and develop employees to their highest potential and offer opportunities for growth and development to staff.
    • Expose and involve staff in long-term planning issues, and to areas outside of their individual daily responsibilities to create depth of knowledge and ability to provide top quality functional support
    • Provide leadership and support in project initiatives to further goals and objectives as they relate to project completion at Precor.
    • Actively pursue continuous improvement and ease of doing business to meet or exceed both internal and external customer needs. 
    • Commit to leading the organization in maintaining cutting edge knowledge and principles in our industry and incorporating them into day-to-day practices.
    • Work with Sales leadership to develop sales targets & programs that reward high performance and focus on delivery of sales and margin targets.
    • Administer sales commission/reward programs, ensuring compliance with program rules.
    • Manage the sales forecast accuracy team "Bulls Eye." This cross functional team reviews order opportunity, order intake and order delivery process ("prospect to delivery") and works closely with VP, Finance and Business Controlling team on providing accurate sales/margin forecasts and constant monitoring of progress. Provide financial analyses and related reports necessary to support the decision-making process.
    • Constant review and update of orders in-house and new business needed to deliver monthly targets. Post closing "post mortem" review for key learnings and to improve accuracy metrics.
    • Work with Global/Regional function leaders (tax, treasury, D&T,legal) and ASEC and AFSS and the local Finance person assigned to functional support to deliver quality reporting and service as well as adhere to external regulations and/or Amer policies.
    • Work with President and HR to develop and publish annual bonus targets/MBO's and provide updates as appropriate.
    • Be "right hand" to the President as well as represent CFO on all key decisions.
    • Provide resources and insight into key Business cases for change &/or new products ensuring sound financial assumptions and ROI.

    What We're Looking For

    To be successful you will have:

     

    Any equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job, will be considered. 

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, preferably in Accounting and/or Finance
    • CPA/Public Accounting experience desired
    • Advanced degree in related field preferred
    • 15+ years’ experience with hands-on broad spectrum of financial portfolio, specifically tax, treasury, financial controlling and compliance, business controlling and analytics, cost accounting, credit/financing and business planning [strategic, annual and rolling].
    • Experience in both small and large business environments.
    • Experience working in cross-functional, shared service organization preferred
    • Experience with strong parent-company guidance
    • Minimum seven years successful experience as a CFO/VP Finance leading an overall finance and accounting group
    • Moderate to expert Excel and PowerPoint ability
    • Must be able to manage up (within brand and to corporate owners)
    • Ability to make good business decisions with limited or imperfect information or clarity
    • Flexibility within pre-defined policies and processes
    • Strong process improvement orientation
    • Detail-oriented strategic thinker
    • Familiarity with manufacturing environment preferred
